Milwaukie Montessori School offers the special nurturing that can only be found in a home setting. Group size is limited to a small number of children from two and a half to six years of age. The clean, warm, family surroundings are enhanced by a sunny, fully-fenced yard, equipped with play equipment and free range chicken.
Milwaukie Montessori gives your child an excellent foundation for future learning.
Free Choice of Activities
Each child is given free choice of several developmental activities. The materials used at Milwaukie Montessori are designed to correspond with the child's development.
Each child is regarded as an individual with unique needs and a growing independence. The teacher, trained in the Montessori method, is a link between the child and the material, helping and directing the child.
Children Enjoy Learning At School
At school the child enjoys learning language, math, geography, botany, geometry, sensorial activities and art, as well as how to do such practical things as pour water, roll a mat, dust a table, and prepare food. These activities help the child to coordinate his or her movements.
The school children present a special Christmas and Spring program for their families. Holidays, such as Easter and Halloween, are celebrated. Also, the children get to go on several fun field trips!
